How Xing uses the data from visits to Xing pages for its own purposes, to what extent activities on the Xing page are assigned to individual users, how long Xing stores this data and whether data from a visit to the Xing page is passed on to third parties is not conclusively and clearly stated by Xing and is not known to us.
When you access a Xing page, the IP address assigned to your end device is transmitted to Xing. Xing also stores information about the end devices of its users (e.g. as part of the "login notification" function); Xing may thus be able to assign IP addresses to individual users.
If you are currently logged in to Xing as a user, a cookie with your Xing ID is stored on your end device. This enables Xing to recognise that you have visited this page and how you have used it.

In addition, we collect various personal data through the application process when you use the application function.Personal data is all information from which conclusions can be drawn about your personal or factual circumstances or which makes you identifiable. The following data is collected and processed in order to process your application:
- First name, surname, address, e-mail, date of birth, title, telephone number, country of residence and citizenship
- Additional questions depending on the respective tender (e.g. driving licence)
- Curriculum vitae, in particular details of professional experience and training
- Skills and knowledge for the advertised position
- Application photo
- Qualifications, honours and language skills
- Letter of motivation
- Files and documents that you would like to send us or upload in connection with your application
By submitting the applicant data, you as the applicant give your consent to the processing of personal data for the purpose of the scope set out in this privacy policy.
No information is required to process your application that may not be processed under the General Equal Treatment Act (this includes race, ethnic origin, gender, disability, religion and belief or age). We ask you not to submit any information that is irrelevant to the processing of your application under the Equal Treatment Act (including illnesses, pregnancy, trade union membership and sex life).
Please do not transmit any content that could, for example, infringe the copyrights or press rights of third parties.
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data in this context is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in the processing of applications, as well as Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b), Art. 88 para. 1 GDPR in conjunction with § 26 para. 1 BDSG (new).
We will keep your application e-mail and the application documents sent for 6 months (AGG). After this period, your documents will be deleted in accordance with data protection regulations, unless you give us your consent to store them for our applicant pool. Your documents will then be stored for 1 year.

What data protection rights do I have?
You have the right to information, correction, deletion or restriction of the processing of your stored data, a right to object to the processing as well as a right to data portability and to lodge a complaint in accordance with the requirements of data protection law.

You can request information from us as to whether and to what extent we process your data.
Right to rectification:
If we process your data that is incomplete or incorrect, you can request that we correct or complete it at any time.
Right to cancellation:
You can request that we erase your data if we process it unlawfully or if the processing disproportionately interferes with your legitimate protection interests. Please note that there may be reasons that prevent immediate erasure, e.g. in the case of statutory retention obligations.
Irrespective of the exercise of your right to erasure, we will erase your data immediately and completely, provided that there is no legal or statutory retention obligation to the contrary.
Right to restriction of processing:
You can request that we restrict the processing of your data if
- you contest the accuracy of the data, for a period enabling us to verify the accuracy of the data.
- the processing of the data is unlawful, but you refuse to have it erased and instead request that the use of the data be restricted,
- we no longer need the data for the intended purpose, but you still need this data for the assertion or defence of legal claims, or
- you have objected to the processing of the data.
Right of objection:
If we process your data on the basis of legitimate interest, you can revoke this at any time; this would also apply to profiling based on these provisions. We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. You can object to the processing of your data for the purpose of direct advertising at any time without giving reasons.
Right to data portability:
You may request that we provide you with the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and that you may transmit this data to another controller without hindrance from us, provided that
- we process this data on the basis of a consent given and revocable by you or for the fulfilment of a contract between us, and
- this processing is carried out using automated procedures.
If technically feasible, you can request that we transfer your data directly to another controller.
Right of appeal:
If you are of the opinion that we are violating German or European data protection law when processing your data, please contact us so that we can clarify any questions you may have. Of course, you also have the right to contact the supervisory authority responsible for you, the respective state office for data protection supervision.
If you wish to assert one of these rights against us, please contact our data protection officer. In case of doubt, we may request additional information to confirm your identity.
Right to withdraw consent
If we process your data on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw this consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
New Work SE is solely responsible for the implementation of these rights in accordance with Articles 15-20 of the GDPR with regard to the data stored by Xing after joint processing. You also have the right to object and lodge a complaint with us as described above.
