Launch of the first electronic tendering phase for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 delivery years.
For around 800 Bavarian municipalities, the bundled tenders for the supply of electricity for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 were launched with the announcements. For the second time in a row, the municipalities are tendering their electricity requirements with KUBUS Kommunalberatung und Service GmbH via the web-based tender platform enPORTAL. The largest electronic tender to date via the portal covers around 39,000 offtake points. New: For the first time, the data was processed independently by the municipalities in the online portal, which saved a lot of time and effort. By using the online solution, the Bavarian municipalities show how advanced and efficient their energy purchasing is.
First phase of electronic power procurement launched
Around 800 Bavarian municipalities launched the electricity procurement for the supply years 2017, 2018 and 2019 for a quantity of approx. 678 gigawatt hours per year. The total of 84 bundled tenders are carried out in the "open procedure with subsequent electronic auction", distributed over approx. 39,000 offtake points, including SLP, RLM, street lighting and heating power offtake points.
One third of all municipalities want only green electricity, while the remaining municipalities also accept normal electricity offers from the suppliers. "With around 39,000 offtake points being put out to tender, there is an enormous amount of data that can be displayed comprehensively, uniformly and clearly via our enPORTAL. All interested suppliers can access the tenders electronically, which increases competition and ultimately offers the municipalities better energy prices," says Clemens Graf von Wedel, Managing Director of enPORTAL.
Bavarian municipalities work independently in enPORTAL for the first time
Never before has the electronic procurement of electricity for the approximately 800 Bavarian municipalities been as efficient, transparent and time-saving as with this electronic tender. For the first time, every municipality working with KUBUS Kommunalberatung was able to independently enter and edit the required electricity data and quantities in enPORTAL, which greatly reduced the workload for everyone involved. The exchange and checking of Excel tables is no longer necessary due to the use of the cloud solution.
enPORTAL online for public tender
KUBUS is a licensee and uses the online portal of enPORTAL to conduct energy tenders for public clients and sector contracting authorities. At present, KUBUS serves approx. 70,000 consumption points in the electricity sector with a total annual consumption of approx. 1,380 gigawatt hours, and approx. 5,000 consumption points in the natural gas sector with approx. 1,100 gigawatt hours per year. More than 2,000 public clients from 14 federal states work with Kommunalberatung in the field of electricity and gas procurement.
