Automated data exchange between enPORTAL and the calculation tool of energy suppliers is now possible.
enPORTAL is driving digitalisation in the energy market and offers another innovation in online energy purchasing: With the new Supplier interface the key account sales department of energy supply companies will be able to participate more quickly and efficiently in commercial online tenders via the cloud-based portal in the future. All customer data can now be transferred to the company's own calculation software with a click. From the submission of the offer to the conclusion of the contract, all steps take place online. For electricity and gas suppliers, this means: increased efficiency in sales through automation and an increase in the frequency of offers, as well as time and cost savings. Industrial and commercial customers in the B2B online portal ultimately benefit from more offers and better energy prices at the time of the online tender.
Digital transformation and online-based marketplaces
Great competition in the energy market, the increasing willingness of customers to switch and the rise of comparison portals pose challenges for energy supply companies (EVU). Digital skills and the use of new tools are becoming more important than ever to improve work processes in sales. It is important to meet individual customer requirements (e.g. request for energy mix) as well as the price war due to constantly changing grid charges, taxes and levies. The faster digital opportunities can be seized, the easier it is to retain old customers and win new ones. The new interface solution from enPORTAL, which dynamises energy trading in the large customer sector, proves how easy it is to optimise sales processes at energy suppliers.
Interface solution automates bid submission
With the new interface solution, utilities can participate in more tenders than before via enPORTAL and acquire new large customers more easily. In an online tender, all customer data can be transferred to the utility's internally used software with a click. The key account managers of the utilities thus no longer need to switch between their own calculation tool and the supplier area in enPORTAL. Load profile data and customer requests are read in and evaluated mechanically. The energy price, basic costs and annual bonus can then be transferred to the enPORTAL form at the click of a mouse. The effort required for submitting the offer is reduced enormously by the automatic transmission. "Through the direct connection to our tool, we save our approximately 3,000 key accounts in the portal a lot of work and time, because they no longer have to enter prices and data by hand, but can have them filled in via their software. The entire energy purchasing process is accelerated to the maximum by the new supplier interface," says Clemens Graf von Wedel, Managing Director of enPORTAL.
Successful cooperation with software and consulting partners
In order for utilities to make optimal use of the interface solution, they need the right software. To facilitate integration, enPORTAL has made its web service available to industry-specific cooperation partners. These include the IT and management consulting firm Sopra Steria Consulting and the calculation software provider ene't GmbH. Both partners support municipal utilities and suppliers with the implementation. The interface to enPORTAL is configured in such a way that any common calculation software can take over the required data and automatically import offers into the online portal. "What many in the energy sector cannot yet imagine is taking place and will soon be part of everyday life: The transition from offline to online is in full swing and we are making an important contribution to this for the B2B energy market," sums up Clemens Graf von Wedel.
