  • Grid fees increase predominantly throughout Germany
  • Info brochure "Network charge analysis 2020" shows exemplary cost changes for companies from the SME sector
  • enPORTAL presents grid tariff development in the online portal

Hamburg, 15 January 2020. The portal operator enPORTAL provides information on the price changes resulting from the predominantly increased grid fees with its new "Grid Fee Analysis 2020". Using five locations as examples, it evaluates the electricity costs that energy-intensive companies from the SME sector will have to expect this year. The new information brochure offers energy buyers as well as decision-makers from SMEs targeted practical knowledge on the opportunities of digitalisation around electricity procurement. The document can be requested and downloaded free of charge via the company website. Since the beginning of the year, enPORTAL customers have been able to see clearly in the online portal which grid fee changes will result for their consumption points, both individually and in total across all locations. This facilitates cost control and enables optimal economic planning. The B2B online portal is used by energy buyers from industry, trade, hospitals and commerce for completely digital energy procurement and cloud-based energy data management.

"Network charge analysis 2020" provides information on cost changes

Grid fees in Germany will increase again in large parts in 2020, but not uniformly like the EEG levy, but individually depending on the location and grid operator. At the end of each year, the Federal Network Agency publishes the new, approved network fees for the following year. The result is that many energy-intensive companies from the SME sector will have to reckon with additional costs for electricity this year. enPORTAL has summarised the current developments and facts in its new "Grid fee analysis 2020". Using five locations in Germany with an annual electricity consumption of five gigawatt hours as examples, it shows which cost changes will arise. This evaluation is possible because all relevant energy data is always correctly available in the online portal and can be linked to one's own consumption values. The information brochure also offers five practical tips on how energy costs can be reduced in the future. "It is very important to us to highlight the opportunities of digitalisation for energy buyers, which can be used quickly and easily in practice. With our network charge analysis, we have implemented this intention and compactly summarised insider information about digital energy purchasing," says Clemens Graf von Wedel, founder and owner of enPORTAL.

Individual network charge development at a glance

The enPORTAL B2B online portal is used by numerous energy-intensive companies from the industrial, trade, hospital and commercial sectors. Energy buyers use the online marketplace with 630 energy suppliers to post electricity and gas prices close to the exchange rate and manage their energy data with details on consumption, costs and contracts in the cloud. This year, too, customers can click on a separate tab "Change in grid charges" to find out what costs they will incur as a result of the change in grid charges in 2020. Energy buyers can see at a glance how the individual price components are made up for each delivery point and also have a quick overview of the costs for all locations. This facilitates economic planning and ensures better control. The database operator e'net, which has been cooperating with enPORTAL since 2008, ensures that the network charges in the portal are always correct. "Determining the respective grid charges yourself by hand is very tedious. Cloud solutions and service providers offer a correct database without much effort. With grid charges that can vary so much, this makes work much easier," says Rainer Otto, founder and owner of enPORTAL.
