Reduction in VAT on gas consumption

The VAT on gas consumption has been reduced from 19 per cent to 7 per cent from 1 October 2022. enPORTAL has updated the new value in the online portal on schedule. Since the changeover, all customers see their gas costs with the new VAT rate. This means that energy buyers from companies in industry, commerce, trade, services or health care can see at a glance how their gas costs will change in the future. This supports energy purchasing departments and enables immediate, further economic planning, as the tedious conversion is no longer necessary. "In the case of legal changes such as the VAT reduction on gas, our digital portal shows what it can do, namely conversions at the click of a mouse without additional work for purchasing departments," says Clemens Graf von Wedel, Managing Director of enPORTAL.
