Never before has electronic electricity and gas procurement been so efficient, transparent and time-saving for the approximately 800 Bavarian municipalities as with these electronic tenders. In cooperation with the municipal service provider, KUBUS Kommunalberatung, € 63 million could be saved in electricity and € 9 million in gas over three years.
Around 800 Bavarian municipalities launched the electricity procurement for the supply years 2017, 2018 and 2019 for a quantity of approx. 678 gigawatt hours per year. The total of 84 bundled tenders are carried out in the "open procedure with subsequent electronic auction", covering approx. 39,000 offtake points, including SLP, RLM, street lighting and heating power offtake points. One third of all municipalities wanted green electricity only, while the remaining municipalities also accepted normal electricity offers from the suppliers.
