Innovations in online energy procurement

enPORTAL Self Service Gas and online contract conclusion.

For professional energy buyers, the procurement of electricity and gas has never been as efficient as with the unique, free web tools from enPORTAL. The pioneer for online energy purchasing has now developed two further innovations, thanks to which the tendering of energy on the grid is even faster, safer and easier. Since February 2014, the new product enPORTAL Self Service also for gas purchasing on the German market. For the first time, it enables traders and companies to tender their gas requirements independently and online without an external consultant. With immediate effect, enPORTAL also offers its customers a legally verified online contract conclusion, which reduces the administrative effort to a minimum of the previous effort and makes it possible to purchase energy at optimised prices through faster conclusions.

Maximise competition: Reach over 400 gas suppliers at the same time

With the novelty enPORTAL Self Service for gas, professional buyers from companies with an annual consumption of 150,000 kWh or more can now also purchase gas independently online and without an advisor. Previously, this was only possible for electricity purchases via the portal. The product offers advantages to both small and large gas customers: Intuitive operation, transparent overview in the procurement process and maximum competition thanks to over 400 suppliers listed on enPORTAL. "With our expansion in the area of Self Service we can now also offer professional gas buyers independence in purchasing with maximum efficiency. At the same time, we enable them to access the best price for them in each case," says Clemens Graf von Wedel, Managing Director of enPORTAL. As with electricity, the use of the web tool of the Self Service free of charge for customers, the registration phase takes only a few minutes. When an online tender is concluded, enPORTAL is remunerated by the commissioned supplier. The brokerage fee is the same for all suppliers and is based on the total quantity tendered. "Our Self Service is currently the only web tool on the German market with which gas tenders can now also be carried out completely independently online and with which our customers can reach up to 400 gas suppliers at the same time," emphasises Rainer Otto, Managing Director of enPORTAL.

Accelerate purchasing: Online contracting optimises energy prices

As of now, customers of enPORTAL also have access to a legally verified online contract conclusion. Once the online tender has been completed, the contract with the desired supplier can be viewed in detail, accepted with a click and concluded in a legally secure manner. There is no need to print out, sign, send the order confirmation by post or fax or file it on paper. The contract is available Full Service Customers and the commissioned energy supply company is available as a PDF file in the protected area of enPORTAL and can be viewed and downloaded at any time. "Time plays a significant role when concluding electricity and gas supply contracts. The quicker the decision can be made in favour of a supplier and the simpler the processing of customer data is for the supplier, the better the energy prices. When paper and fax contracts were used in the past, it happened time and again that offer deadlines could not be met, resulting in additional costs," explains Clemens Graf von Wedel. According to enPORTAL, this almost completely eliminates the bureaucratic effort involved in concluding contracts online for customers and suppliers. "We have achieved what we would not have thought possible years ago: To reduce the time involved in energy procurement with our web tools to a fraction of the previous effort with significantly better results. Nowhere on the net can professionals buy energy faster, more securely and at a more optimised price than with us," Rainer Otto, Managing Director of enPORTAL, is pleased to say.
