Many years of experience and state-of-the-art machines
Challenges & Problems
With its ultra-modern machinery, the family business covers all areas of classic mechanical engineering: the range extends from milling, turning, sheet metal production, tube laser cutting to lead casting. A particular strength lies in the production of prototypes. In 2016, Heinzler Maschinenbau needed about 1 million kilowatt hours of electricity and about 2.5 million kilowatt hours of gas per year to produce the parts in its state-of-the-art machinery. As in many medium-sized companies, the managing director himself is still responsible for energy procurement at Heinzler Maschinenbau GmbH. This is because there is a desire for self-determination and cost control. Nevertheless, Robert Heinzler was not fully satisfied with his manual energy procurement, as he describes: "Individual enquiries with energy suppliers were always very time-consuming and tedious." The managing director found that with individual enquiries to a handful of suppliers, he could not take advantage of the great competition in the energy market. He also lacked the feeling of having obtained a good energy price.
